Who Can Join Fishing For Business Owners

Fishing for Business Owners exists so that people who run companies can network with other people who run companies. That's the one qualifying rule: everything else is open.

The one requirement

You need to be the owner or director of a UK-registered company. When you book, we'll ask for your company name and company number so we can confirm this. It keeps the group exactly what it says on the tin: business owners, not their employees, and not people fishing for the sake of it.

If you run your business as a sole trader or partnership rather than a limited company, get in touch before booking, contact us and we'll let you know if you qualify.

Everything else is open

  • Any gender. Men and women are equally welcome on every trip.
  • Any background. Whatever industry you're in and wherever you're from, if you own a UK business, you're in.
  • Any experience level. Most people who join have never sea fished before. The skipper shows everyone what to do.
  • Disabilities. We want as many business owners as possible on board, and welcome anglers with disabilities. Because the boats we charter vary by trip, accessibility depends on the specific vessel. Please get in touch before booking to talk through what you need, and we'll do our best to match you with a suitable boat and let you know honestly if a particular trip isn't workable.

Why the restriction at all

The whole point of Fishing for Business Owners is the conversation on deck. Everyone on board is dealing with the same kind of pressure: cash flow, hiring, growth, the lot, and that's what makes the networking work. Opening it up beyond business owners would dilute exactly what makes the day valuable.
