Where We Fish: Portsmouth & Weymouth

We run trips from two ports on the south coast, chosen because they're easy to reach from most of southern England and sit on genuinely excellent fishing ground.

Portsmouth (the Solent)

Portsmouth sits on the Solent, the sheltered stretch of water between the Hampshire coast and the Isle of Wight. It's well connected by road and rail from London, the M3/M27 corridor and the wider south east, which makes it an easy trip for business owners travelling in from out of town the night before or the morning of. The Solent's mix of tide races, reefs and open banks holds a good variety of fish through the season. See fish you could catch for the details.

Weymouth (Dorset)

Weymouth is one of the best-known sea fishing towns in the UK, and for good reason. The ground around Portland and Chesil Beach, with sandy flats, kelp forests, deep rocky pits and countless wrecks, is some of the richest boat fishing water on the south coast. It's a slightly longer trip for anyone coming from the London area, but well worth the drive down, and there's plenty of parking near the harbour.

The exact boat, skipper and meeting point for each trip depend on availability and are confirmed closer to the date. You'll get the full details, including exact meeting point and parking, once you've booked a place on an upcoming trip. Where we fish on the day itself is down to the skipper, based on wind, tide, and season, so no two trips are quite the same.
