Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17/09/2026

This policy explains what personal data Fishing for Business Owners collects when you book or enquire about a trip, what we use it for, and your rights over it. It applies to ffbo.co.uk and to bookings made by phone, email or in person.

1. Who we are

Fishing for Business Owners is run by Yazaroo Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in England and Wales. Yazaroo Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Contact details are on our Contact page.

2. What information we collect

When you enquire about or book a trip, we typically collect:

  • Your name, email address and phone number
  • Your company name and company number, to confirm you’re eligible to join (see who can join)
  • Payment information, processed securely by our payment provider (we do not store your full card details ourselves)
  • Any dietary needs, mobility considerations or medical conditions you choose to tell us about ahead of a trip, so the skipper can plan for them
  • Photographs or video taken during trips, where you’re identifiable

If you contact us or comment on the site, we’ll also hold whatever you send us in that message.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Confirm your eligibility and secure your place on a trip
  • Communicate with you about your booking, including adding you to a WhatsApp group for the trip you’ve booked onto, so the group can coordinate easily before and on the day
  • Pass on the minimum necessary detail (your name, and any safety-relevant information you’ve shared) to the boat operator and skipper running that trip, so they can run it safely
  • Take payment for your place
  • Use trip photographs on this website, our blog and our social media, where you’ve not asked us not to

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for anything beyond running trips and keeping you informed about them. We will not add you to marketing mailing lists without asking you first.

4. Our lawful basis for using your information

  • Booking and payment details: necessary to perform our contract with you (fulfilling your booking).
  • Company name and number: necessary to confirm you meet our legitimate interest in keeping this a business-owner-only network.
  • Dietary, mobility or medical information: only ever provided by you voluntarily, and used on the basis of your explicit consent, given by choosing to share it. You do not have to share it, though it helps the skipper plan for your needs.
  • Photos and video: legitimate interest in promoting the network, balanced against your right to opt out (tell us in advance and we’ll leave you out of shots, or ask us to remove a specific photo afterwards).

5. The WhatsApp group

When you book a place, we add your phone number to a WhatsApp group for that specific trip, to make coordinating logistics (meeting points, timings, weather updates) straightforward. A few things worth knowing:

  • WhatsApp is operated by Meta, and messages sent through it are subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy policy and terms, which we don’t control.
  • Other people in the group will be able to see your name and phone number, and any photo you use on WhatsApp.
  • Groups are for the specific trip only; we don’t keep you in a group after that trip has taken place.
  • If you’d rather not be added to the group, let us know and we’ll coordinate with you by email or phone instead.

6. Who we share your information with

  • The boat operator and skipper running your trip, limited to what they need to run it safely (your name, and any medical, dietary or mobility information you’ve given us).
  • Our payment provider, to process your booking payment.
  • WhatsApp/Meta, as set out above, if you’re added to a trip group.
  • Professional advisers (such as an accountant or solicitor) where necessary, or where we’re required to by law.

We do not sell, rent or otherwise trade your personal data to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

7. How long we keep your information

We keep booking information for as long as needed to run the trip and deal with any follow-up (such as accounting requirements), and then for a reasonable period afterwards in case of a query or dispute. Medical, dietary and mobility information is deleted once the trip it relates to has taken place, unless you rebook and give it to us again. You can ask us to delete your information sooner, subject to section 8 below.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Ask us to delete your information, where we don’t have a good reason to keep it
  • Object to, or ask us to restrict, certain uses of your information
  • Ask for your information in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we’re relying on consent (for example, medical or dietary information)

To exercise any of these rights, get in touch. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) if you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information.

9. Children

Fishing for Business Owners is a service for business owners and directors, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The version on this page is always the current one.
