Do I need to have fished before? No. Most people on a typical trip haven't. The skipper supplies all the equipment and shows everyone what to do, and there's usually someone more experienced on board happy to help too.

Do I need my own equipment? No. Rods, reels, tackle and bait are all provided. Just bring food, a drink, and clothing for the weather. See what to expect for the full kit list.

Is this only for men? No. Fishing for Business Owners is open to any UK business owner or director, regardless of gender.

I have a disability. Can I still join? We want as many business owners on board as possible. Accessibility depends on the specific boat chartered for each trip, so get in touch before booking and we'll talk through what you need.

I'm a sole trader, not a limited company. Can I join? Get in touch and we'll confirm whether your business qualifies. See who can join for the detail.

Can I bring a business partner or colleague? Each place is for a business owner or director in their own right. If you'd both like to come and both qualify, book two places.

How much does it cost? Current pricing is shown when you book on upcoming trips. Prices vary based on the boat/skipper.

What happens if the weather's bad? The skipper checks the forecast the evening before and makes the call. If the trip can't go ahead, you'll be offered a refund or a place on the next trip. Full detail in our terms and booking conditions.

Do I need a fishing licence? No. No sea angling licence is required for recreational sea fishing anywhere in the UK.

Where do trips leave from? Portsmouth on the Solent, or Weymouth in Dorset. See our ports. The exact meeting point is confirmed once you've booked.

How many people are on each trip? Group sizes are kept small enough that you can genuinely talk to everyone on board over the course of the day.

What if I get seasick? Bring seasickness tablets if you're prone, it's common advice for a reason. Most people find the tea, fresh air and distraction of fishing helps too.
